When I bought the Harry Potter movie soundtrack, I was so relieved to have finally gotten my hands on this great collection of music. After getting home and listening to it, I was simply astounded at how the legendary composer, John Williams managed to pull off this task, which may have seemed difficult to other musicians.
Now, for the details on the soundtrack cd. I first have to say that I wasn't quite sure what to expect before I listened to it. The only music from the movie was from the trailers or course, and those were all pretty good teasers. What I was most anxious to hear was the Quidditch scene and when Professor Quirrell reveals his other face. Once I did hear it, I was impressed by Williams' handling of the feelings and emotions of the roaring Quidditch crowds and the shock and horror as Lord Voldemort is revealed.
The entire mood of the film and book is mystic and magical, therefore requiring the soundtrack to be just the same. Mr. Williams' gift with the use of instruments was proved through the sounds of this masterpiece, which was truly music to soothe your senses. I thought the xylophone was perfect for Hedwig's theme.
Along with every package of the cd includes a "free" fold-out mini poster of Harry and Hedwig, which looks really cool in its dark black and blue atmosphere. The next item is a small card, the size of a phone card, which is actually your "ticket" to winning Harry Potter prizes on the soundtrack's official site. Each card comes with a special pin number that you enter at www.harrypottersoundtrack.com/dlc.

The Best Track:
In my own opinion, I would have to say that my favorite track of all on the cd (even though it's a really hard decision), would be "Hedwig's Theme". It might not have been the absolute, most exciting track on the cd, but it was still dark and magical, just like the book and that's evidently the way I like it.

Last Thoughts:
Lots of times, you're not sure whether or not the music soundtrack for a movie you really wanna see will be able to live up to the film, but in this case, that task was accomplished. John Williams did a simply magnificent job well done on the first Harry Potter movie soundtrack and all fans of the series can only wait anxiously (yet again) for The Chamber of Secrets soundtrack.
